From Do No Harm to Inclusion: Toolkit for Funders on the Issue of Sex Work

On March 21, 2025, SWDC launched the Do No Harm to Inclusion Toolkit. Created by the members of SWDC, this toolkit is designed for funders, donors, funder intermediaries, and co-implementers who are committed to human rights and interested in exploring how their funding impacts the sex worker community. This toolkit is designed to help funders navigate the often-complex issues surrounding sex work and to offer practical steps for developing a principled, human rights-based approach to grantmaking—moving toward ensuring greater inclusion and equity.

Our launch event featured speakers from around the world who shared deeply about how these issues affect their lives, and offered practical and actionable suggestions for funders.

We are offering free workshops to funders to introduce or dive deeper into this issue, provoke discussion and guide funders toward an authentic values-based approach. Do you have a brown bag series for staff or a board meeting coming up? Please reach out if you would like to engage in this way!

Meanwhile, please read, share, and give us your feedback on the Toolkit - we would love to hear from you.
